Please use this thread to ask any questions you may have regarding the beginner's course. Any that we receive by email will be added here also.

Before you join any archery club you will be required to complete a beginner's course. This will introduce you to the sport, show you how to handle a bow, and will educate you on how to shoot correctly so you can then learn safely. Our next available course will start on 16 January 2024. Courses will take place in the Rainbow Leisure Centre and take place along side the normal club night. The course is takes take place over 5 consecutive weekly 2 hour sessions. If you wish to add your name to the list for the next available course then please send an email to dragonarchers@protonmail.me with the subject line of "Beginner Course Request" or contact us through our facebook page. You can also ask any questions you may have that are not in this post. You will receive a response answering your questions and asking for some information. At this point you will be added to the waiting list. When a course is planned the next on the waiting list will receive an invite to join the course and be requested to pay a deposit to secure their place. Your invite will last 48 hours, during which time you will be required to confirm your attendance on the course by paying a small deposit. If you are unable to attend the course and let us know you will remain on the waiting list until the next course. If you do not confirm your attendance you will be removed from the list and will have to rejoin it if you still with to complete a course. Please ensure that you add dragonarchers@protonmail.me to your email contacts so emails do not end up in your junk folder. If there are any short notice cancellations we will contact the next person on the list and offer them a place. The deadline for accepting these offers will be much shorter. If you are able to carry out a beginner course with another club then you are requested to let us know so we can take you off our waiting list allowing us to offer the place to another. Thank you. Please note that the information below relates to our sessions for club members. Our regular club sessions take place in the Rainbow Leisure Centre, Coulby Newham on a Tuesday evening between 7pm and 9pm. With the exception of a few weeks, we shoot all year round. Our current fees are available on our website or in the Club Fees section of this community. We accept card payments. Whilst we accept cash please be mindful that we may not have change available and to bring the exact amount if possible. All members are requested to arrive in good time to assist with the setup and teardown of the range. This allows all members to have the maximum time shooting in a session.

If you’re an Archery GB / NFAS card holder who wishes to shoot with us as a guest please let our Secretary know by email (dragonarchers@proton.me) so we can make sure there’s someone available to greet you properly for the session. Please also remember to bring your Archery GB / NFAS card along whenever you shoot with us. You are free to shoot any style of bow you wish. There is a line fee payable on the evening. Our current visitor fees are located in the Club Fees section of this community.
